Training Sessions
Training sessions with the London Warriors are closed sessions for registered team members during the Basketball England season. These sessions are designed to build consistency, discipline, and growth. As the season progresses, training may be extended or adapted to meet the needs of our squads.
To be included in team training, you must first be a club member and registered team player. We will then arrange a trial session for you to attend. From there, we will assess and guide you into the most appropriate age group or squad. Once confirmed as a team member, you will be added to your team’s WhatsApp team chat and provided with a full training schedule.
Area of Play
CENTRAL VENUE LEAGUE (CVL)
Games are scheduled on Sundays across three well-equipped venues:
-
Chessington Sports Hall (Chessington)
-
Three Rivers (Walton-on-Thames)
-
ACS (Egham)
Each venue offers parking and accessible facilities, making it easy for families and supporters to attend.

BASKETBALL ENGLAND (NBL)
The NBL represents the highest level of competitive basketball in the UK.
Teams are divided into regions (e.g., North West, Central, South East, etc.) and fixtures include both home and away games. Success in the league progresses teams to quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the prestigious Final Fours tournament.
Player Development
London Warriors is passionate about basketball not only as a sport, but as a vehicle for growth and life-skills development. We aim to train players in the fundamentals of the game, while also instilling valuable qualities such as:
-
Team-building
-
Discipline and responsibility
-
Communication and interactive skills
-
Fitness, resilience, and focus
-
Academic support and career pathways

To achieve these goals, we provide:
-
2 basketball training sessions per week(technical and tactical)
-
1 strength & conditioning session (gym-based fitness)
-
Study Hall sessions in English, Maths, and Science for players who are underachieving academically and players/parents are willing to subscribe to these.

These weekly commitments establish a strong foundation for multi-faceted development. Players are encouraged to attend three sessions per week. Non-attendance must be communicated in advance, along with a reason, so it can be logged on our attendance record. Remember: consistency in training is key to personal progress and securing your place on the team roster for official games.
Safeguarding & Parental Support
Parents of players U14 and younger are required to drop off and collect their children directly from the gym doors.
This ensures their safety, as venues are often busy with other users.
Training or match venues may occasionally change due to school exams or facility availability.
Notice of any changes will be given as soon as possible.
